Hire or buy your prom dress?
In the present economic climate you may want to consider hiring your dress.  The cost of dress hire varies but you can expect to pay   about £70 - £200  to  hire  a  prom dress for 3 days.  The advantage is that you can have a really stunning dress at an affordable price.  The cost will include cleaning charges.  The disadvantage is that you have to be

extra careful that you don’t damage the dress or you will have to pay either to have it repaired  -  or if the damage is severe -  for the dress itself!
Most girls still want their own prom gown for the
big night!  These vary in price but you don’t have to spend  £100’s to look fantastic.  Beware when buying on line.  Check that the label is a good one that you’ve heard of before.  If a dress is very cheap and seems too good to be
true, that may just be the case and you may be disappointed  when it arrives.
Some dress shops will allow you to put a dress aside and pay in weekly or monthly instalments.  It’s worth asking about this when you go to look for your dress.  Usually the more expensive dresses have more sequins, embellishments and underskirts than the cheaper ones.  However with a bit of creativity you can add your own bling with diamante jewellery and beading and buy or make your own net underskirt  for extra volume.  After the prom you may want to keep your dress for posterity.  On the other hand you can always sell  it on through a dress agency or e-bay, or if you go on to University you may swap your dress with a friend for your next prom night.

Choosing THE gown
This is the fun part!  There are so many beautiful styles to look at.  Look at lots of pictures beforehand but try not to decide exactly what you want till you’ve tried some on.  For example if you decide to go for a lime green dress with a puffball skirt you may find that next season this colour and style is not around.
Try on both long and short gowns if you’re not sure which to go for and take shoes with you so that you can check whether the skirt is the right length.
Many dresses have stunning backs – many lace up which is good when you want to get a really good fit.  It’s also good if you have to eat a big dinner at your Prom as it can be loosened a bit after you’ve eaten!  Some dresses have a train which can look superb – check you can dance and move around without people standing on it.
Try on as many different styles as possible – you may be surprised by what suits you.  The main thing is to have fun and take your time to choose the right gown!

Accessories
There’s a vast selection of bling around to choose from.  The Oscars are on in March and it’s worth having a look at what the celebs are wearing.  For example last year many didn’t wear necklaces at all opting instead for really dramatic earrings.  You can get lots of ideas from magazines.  Most shops that stock prom dresses will sell  matching accessories.  Many girls like to wear a tiara although there are many lovely coloured fascinators around which also look superb.  The price range is very wide!  It’s up to you – you can get cheap diamante jewellery if you wish – or the sky’s the limit!
If you’re wearing a long dress the chances are your feet will be almost invisible so you may be able to wear comfy sparkly flats – just check with the length of your skirt first. Again some shops stock shoes which can be dyed to match your gown – if not there’s plenty of choice in the High Street.
Hair, make up etc
Be sure to book appointments well in advance as hairdressers get very busy at prom time.  There are many hair dressers/make up people who will come to your house – again if you want this do your homework and book well ahead.

The Royal family have been wearing wedding rings crafted from a single nugget of Clogau gold extracted from the Clogau St. David’s Gold Mine.

For generations the Clogau Gold Mine has been proud of its association with the royal family.

For over 150 years the mine has gone through mixed fortunes, the gold veins being most inconsistent and difficult to locate, making welsh gold extremely rare.
